Van Devere made her film debut in 1970 in the movie "Where's Poppa?" and went on to star in films such as "The Changeling" (1980), "The Hearse" (1980), and "Messenger of Death" (1988). She also appeared in television shows like "Kojak," "Magnum, P.I.," and "Murder, She Wrote."
